Saranac Lake firefighters use rakes and backpack water carriers to extinguish an abandoned campfire along the shore of Lower Saranac Lake, near Duso’s Crescent Bay Marina. Eight members and one truck responded to the scene at 2:56 p.m. Thursday. Firefighters used 1,500 gallons of water drawn from the lake with a portable pump to put out the blaze.
