LAKE PLACID - Lake Placid Speedy Spa announces the return of California artist Cree Scudder in this year's show: "Cross Country Colors."
The artist's reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 20 at Speedy Spa.
According to Claire Doyle, one of Speedy Spa's owners, "Cree's passion is color - and when accompanied with her texture and keen attention to moving the viewer's eyes - her paintings pop with excitement. This year's show is a fine example of her abstract expressions, and we are pleased to have her bringing this exciting show to Lake Placid."

Sarah and Marcy Doyle agree, "Speedy Spa makes an ideal backdrop for Cree's contemporary paintings and we welcome her back for her third exhibition."
Scudder, a resident of San Diego, Calif., has been part of the Lake Placid community since 1992. She commutes from California to New York each summer, and finds that her Adirondack summers provide her with inspiration to paint continuously throughout the year.
This year, Scudder will donate 15 percent of opening night's sales to the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
"Cross Country Colors" will run through Aug. 24 at Lake Placid Speedy Spa, 1975 Saranac Avenue, Lake Placid.
