LAKE PLACID - Darragh Kenny of Ireland won the 1.45m Whiteface Mountain Open Jumper Stake on Wednesday at the 43rd annual Lake Placid Horse Show, presented by Sea Shore Stables, LLC.

Debbie Stephens of Palmetto, Fla. was the first rider to attempt the 13-jump, first-round course at the North Elba Show Grounds and rode Swagger to a fault-free ride, one of six turned in on the day. Stephens then rode fault-free again over the seven-jump, jump-off course finishing in 36.508 seconds. Two rides later, Kenny returned to the ring on Sandor De La Pomme and his time of 34.749 seconds moved Stephens out of the lead and proved good enough for the win.

Stephens placed second and Michael Dorman of Jamison, Pa. finished third with a jump-off time of 38.623 seconds on Seventh Fee.
