Come out for an old-fashioned Fourth of July

June 13, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

The Saranac Lake Women's Civic Chamber wishes to cordially invite the community to the first annual "Fourth of July Picnic" to be held on Wednesday, July 4, in Riverside Park, Saranac Lake. Let's bring back an old-fashioned fun day to celebrate the birth of American independence!

The Fourth of July celebration, sponsored by the Women's Civic Chamber, will begin with the annual Kiddie Parade at 10 a.m., followed by the Fourth of July picnic in Riverside Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., including hamburgers and hot dogs sponsored by St. Joseph's Addiction Treatment and Recovery Centers and the Women's Civic Chamber, live music throughout the day, old-time games, lots of fun and food sponsored by local civic groups, face painting and a decorated boat parade at 3 p.m. on Lake Flower.

We would ask that all the local merchants decorate their storefronts for the celebration.

Please come and join us, and wear your red, white and blue proudly!

Sincerely,

Liz Murray, president

Women's Civic Chamber

Saranac Lake
