TUPPER LAKE - Tupper Lake passed the $57,000 mark for fundraising for the American Cancer Society at this year's Relay for Life, held Saturday night into Sunday morning.
Thousands turned out in support of the event at the Frank Tice Memorial Field, including nearly 100 survivors who donned purple shirts. The Tupper Lake Honor Guard, as well as organizer Sabrina Sabre Shipman, village Mayor Paul Maroun and others led this year's opening ceremonies.
The event more than doubled in size in its second year.
