LAKE PLACID - The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) will present a special musical program, "A Night for Smiling with Elisa McIntosh" at 8 p.m. Saturday at ADK's High Peaks Information Center, located at Heart Lake in Lake Placid. This presentation is free and open to the public.
The evening will be a night of ukulele music presented by a folk/pop artist from Johnstown. Mcintosh will play some of her originals and covers ranging from the 1920s to music of today. Come join Elisa for a night of smiling.
McIntosh works for the Adirondack Mountain Club and is also working on her Bachelors of Science in Conservation Biology at the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. She has played music for most of her life but started playing the ukulele a little over a year ago and fell in love with its simplicity and natural sound. Elisa's major musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Sophie Madeleine, Lisa Hannigan, and Cliff "Ukulele Ike" Edwards.
The Adirondack Mountain Club, founded in 1922, is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to protecting the New York State Forest Preserve and other wild lands and waters through conservation and advocacy, environmental education, responsible recreation and stewardship.
