St. Lawrence University senior Elizabeth Edwards of Lake Placid was honored with the Daniel F. Sullivan Athletic Leadership and Community Service Award at a ceremony in Canton. Edwards, a graduate of Northwood School, was a member of the cross country and track and field teams. She earned the award after working as the student representative for the Center for International and Intercultural Studies Committee, tutoring in local schools, volunteering in Club SLU and helping to organize food at a local pantry. Edwards also took her service abroad, teaching English and building soccer fields in Costa Rica and sanitary facilities in Peru.
