Claude A. “Jake” Jacques

EL CAJON, Calif. - Claude A. "Jake" Jacques, 59, passed away suddenly on May 7, 2012 in El Cajon, Calif. at his place of employment.

Claude was born in Lake Placid on Oct. 22, 1951, son of Eugene Jacques

and Shirley Bigelow.

Claude graduated from St. Agnes School and Lake Placid High School's class of 1970.

He enlisted in the military and served two terms. He was honorably discharged. He was employed with the Orange County Probation Department Division of Youth. He lived out his remaining years in California.

He is survived by a brother Eugene (Buddy) Jacques of Chicago; a sister Margaret (Peg) Draper of Lake Placid; his aunts: Carol (Bob) Brown and Pat (Neil) McKenna; his uncles: William Bigelow and Ray Bigelow; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his birth family, he had an adopted family in El Cajon headed by Dena Malone.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Michael.

He was buried at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetary with military honors and a 21-gun salute.

A memorial will be held by his family at a later date.
