MALONE - Franklin County legislators passed a resolution Thursday commending Carolyn Hickok and thanking her for 33 years of service as the town clerk in Santa Clara.

Hickok started in 1978, and she retired at the end of 2011.

"She did an outstanding job," said Paul Maroun, who represents the town on the county Legislature. He was first elected the same year Hickok started as clerk.

He noted that she was one of the last town clerks to keep her office in part of her home.

"Carolyn was very dedicated, hardworking and extremely knowledgeable and the Franklin County Legislature would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank her for her years of service not only to the town of Santa Clara but to Franklin County," the resolution reads.

The resolution also wishes Hickok a happy and healthy retirement.
