TUPPER LAKE - Tupper Lake senior golfer Rick LaLonde tied for the low round of the day Wednesday with a score of 43, but the Lumberjacks were edged 3-2 by Madrid-Waddington in the team scoring.
LaLonde won his match in the No. 3 spot over Josh Tiernan who carded a 47. In the top spot, Madrid-Waddington's Jeff Mott shot at 43 to top Riley Amell's 46.
Tupper Lake's Robbie LaLonde turned in a 47, which was two strokes off his opponent in the second position, Kyle Bent. At No. 5, Josh Pickering carded a 49 to easily beat Madrid-Waddington's Colby McCall, who shot 69.
In the girls competition, Tupper Lake's Katie Stuart turned in a score of 50, while teammate Tana Morgan shot 57.
Mary Young was the top girls golfer for Madrid-Waddington with a 67.
The Section X golf tournament will take place next Wednesday and Thursday in Malone.

GIRLS LACROSSE
Ogdensburg 20, Saranac Lake 10
OGDENSBURG - Katie Sheppard had seven goals and two assists and Molly Morrow had six goals and four assists to lead the Ogdensburg girls lacrosse team to a 20-10 victory over Saranac Lake on Wednesday.
Junior Kaileigh Woodruff paced the Red Storm with three goals, while fellow junior Elena Beideck scored twice.
Saranac Lake fell to 3-10 on the season with the loss. Ogdensburg is 7-7.
