Creamery raises money for humane society

Liz Hughes, the owner of Emma's Lake Placid Creamery, 2507 Main St., held the creamery's first fundraiser April 26, "Cones for a Cause," in which a dollar from each ice cream cone sold that day was set aside for the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in Saranac Lake.

Hughes is pictured with Caitlin Barney whose senior project, a graduation requirement at Lake Placid High School, focused on the prevention of cruelty to animals.
