State Route 73 will be closed to all forms of traffic near the Cascade Lakes between Lake Placid and Keene this weekend.
The state Department of Transportation is rebuilding a slope just east of Stagecoach Rock. Work began earlier this week, and crews had alternating one-way traffic along the highway.
The entire highway will be closed on Saturday and Sunday. Traffic will be detoured through Upper Jay and Wilmington: from Lake Placid on state Route 86 to Wilmington's Fox Farm Road, Springfield Road to Upper Jay and state Route 9N to Keene and Route 73. Signs will mark the detour, according to the DOT.
For the rest of the project, the DOT said motorists should expect delays as flaggers control the alternating one-way traffic.
