REDFORD - Ruth Gryger, 89, of 215 French Road, Saranac, died Monday, May 7, 2012, at 215 French Road.
Born in Leipzig, Germany, on April 2, 1923, she was the daughter of Wener and Marie (Schuster) Haltenhof. Ruth married Henry Gryger in Long Island in 1960. He predeceased her Aug. 24, 1999.
She loved to swim, read books and listen to music.
She is survived by one daughter, Isabelle Korony of Paul Smiths; one son, George Gryger of Saranac; one sister, Karla Wenedel of Germany; and four grandchildren: Emily, Daniel, Madeline and Allison.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Fortune-Keough Funeral Home in Saranac Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Assumption of Mary Church in Redford with the Rev. Donald Kreymborg officiating. Burial will follow in Assumption of Mary Cemetery.
