Amanda Zullo holds a copy of “POGIL,” which stands for Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning Activities, for high school chemistry. Zullo, a teacher at Saranac Lake High School since 2005, served as both an author and associate editor on this
project, which began in 2008. One of the goals of this project was to create a full set of high school activites for various levels of high school chemistry and
biology. The high school initiative was funded by a grant from Toyota. As part of the project, Zullo has written activites and presented at local, state, regional and national level conferences on the techniques outlined in the program. She has also been a lead member of the project's webinar series aimed at helping high school teachers integrate the activities into their classroom.
