PALM BAY, Fla. - Hedy Hoffman, 91, of Palm Bay, Fla., died on Friday, April 6, 2011, after a short illness.
She was born to the late Hedwig and Joseph Stautner on February 18, 1921, in Bavaria, Germany. Hedy immigrated to Albany at the age of seven with her parents and brothers, Joseph and Ernie (both deceased). She married the late Edward Hoffman in 1946, and they resided in both the East Greenbush and Saranac Lake areas of New York. In later years Hedy lived in Kent, Conn., and Florida.
Hedy is survived by her three children: Hedy Kinney (Jack) of South Kent, Conn.; Edward Hoffman (Carolyn) of Gansevoort, N.Y.; and Lisa Batcher (Michael) of Palm Bay, Fla. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Hedy will always be remembered by her family for her love of both water and snow skiing, her delicious German cooking, her passion for music and dance, and her devotion to her family.
