RED HOOK - Gloria Rifenburg Pecheux, 86, of Saranac Lake, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Uihlein Living Center in Lake Placid.

For many years and until her retirement in 1976, Mrs. Pecheux was a teacher at the Saranac Lake Central School District.

Mrs. Pecheux was a former member of St. John's Reformed Church in Upper Red Hook.

Born on April 12, 1925, in Poughkeepsie, she was the daughter of the late James S. and Florence (Triebel) Rifenburg. She earned her degree in teaching from the State University of New York at New Paltz.

Gloria married Paul Pecheux on May 17, 1946, in Newburgh. He predeceased her on May 16, 2001.

She is survived by two daughters: Paulette Pecheux of Lake Placid and Andrea Stutzman of Avon, Colo.; a brother, Ronald Rifenburg of St. Augustine, Fla.; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Stutzman of Avon, Colo.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at St. John's Reformed Church, Red Hook. Burial will be at St. John's Reformed Church Cemetery, Red Hook. There were no calling hours.

Arrangements are under the direction of Burnett & White Funeral Homes, 7461 S. Broadway, Red Hook.
