February 15, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Mary Wilkinson, who turned 108 on Jan. 31, is currently Tupper?Lake’s oldest living resident. She is pictured with North Country Home Services health aides, from left Anne Martin, Shelley Brown and Shelly Willett at her home at the Church Street Apartments, where she’s been a tenant for more than 35 years. Wilkinson is originally from the Liverpool area in England and was a nurse in the English Army during World War II, landing on Normandy Beach during the D-Day invasion. Later, she worked as a nurse at Sunmount for 22 years after moving to Tupper Lake.
