Paul Becker

TUPPER LAKE - Paul Becker, 46, of Tupper Lake passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, Feb. 10, 2012.

Born Jan. 27, 1966 in Saranac Lake, he was the son of Robert and Mary (Olsen) Becker.

Paul was a graduate of Tupper Lake High School in 1985. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Paul served as a electronic warfare technician aboard the U.S.S. Arthur Radford from 1985 to 1989. After his enlistment, Paul returned to Tupper Lake and was a carpenter working with his father at R&C Becker Construction. For a short time, he was employed as a therapy aide at Sunmount DDSO. He went on to be self -employed, making Adirondack furniture, remodeling and constructing guideboats.

Paul had many interests. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and sugaring. He loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his father of Jupiter, Fla.; brothers: David and Mark of Tupper Lake; one sister, Amy Symonds of Glens Falls; one nephew; four nieces; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by his mother; one brother, Robert; and a sister, Joan.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at St. Alphonsus Church in Tupper Lake. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in May.

Arrangements are with the Stuart-Fortune-Keough Funeral Home.
