SARANAC LAKE - Barrett Quinn of Saranac Lake won a raffle for Winter Carnival poster No. 1, signed by Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau.

The winning raffle ticket was drawn Tuesday night at the Grand Marshall Dinner at the Elks Lodge.

Tickets are still available at Winter Carnival Headquarters on River Street, across from the Ice Palace, for signed poster No. 100. The winner of poster No. 100 will be drawn at the slide show on Sunday evening, regardless of the number of tickets sold.

Trudeau, who grew up in Saranac Lake, designed the poster to go with this year's Carnival pin, which matches this year's theme, "Space Alien Invasion." Trudeau has designed every Carnival pin for three decades, but this is the first year he made a poster.

He signed 100 of the 500 posters printed. Of those, 97 were sold for $50 each, one was retained for the Winter Carnival Committee archives, and two are being raffled off.

Unsigned posters are still on sale for $15 each at Winter Carnival Headquarters, Ampersound, Bear Essentials and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce.
