January 30, 2012
Adirondack Daily Enterprise
Pfc. Todd Stevens of Saranac Lake, center, holds his 1-year-old son Lucas as he stands with his mother Sharon Stevens of Saranac Lake and his grandfather, Norman McCasland of Lake Placid, a sergeant in the Korean war, at a deployment ceremony Saturday at the New York Army National Guard armory in Morrisonville. McCasland said, “When I was deployed, they just took us; we didn’t have a ceremony.” Stevens and his fellow Guardsmen will go first to Mississippi, then to Kuwait for a year.
