LAKE PLACID - A break-in occurred at the Wilson Farms convenience store on Saranac Avenue, but few details have emerged so far.
A glass door in the store's main entrance was covered with cardboard Thursday afternoon. The store's manager could not be immediately reached for comment, and an employee at the store said Thursday she wasn't allowed to provide any information about the break-in.
An assistant manager confirmed this morning that a break-in did occur, but could not elaborate at this time.
Sgt. Chuck Dobson of the Lake Placid Police Department told the Enterprise that because the store is located just outside village limits, he believes the case is being handled by state police based in Ray Brook. Steve Ansari of the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation could not confirm that state police were handling the case or provide details on Thursday.
