Prescription drug abuse is epidemic and on the rise nationwide, including among young people. To prevent unused prescription drugs from being stolen or abused, people are invited to drop them off, no questions asked, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three local places Saturday:
Saranac Lake Police Department, in back of the Saranac Lake village office building, 3 Main St.
Lake Placid Police Department, in back of the North Elba Town Hall, 2693 Main St.
Wilmington Community Center, 7 Community Circle.
