MALONE - Franklin County all-terrain vehicle advocates are holding a meeting next week to organize a group that will aim to create a county-wide ATV trail.
County officials have been working for more than a year with stakeholders in the ATV discussion, investigating whether it would be possible to create an ATV trail that connects Clinton and St. Lawrence counties through Franklin County. They decided it would be possible but that the effort would be the most successful if it is headed up by a nonprofit organization of ATV enthusiasts.
Organizers are encouraging Franklin, Clinton and St. Lawrence county residents, business people and anyone else interested in developing a recreational trail in Franklin County to attend the meeting. It will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the 911 Emergency Services Building at 55 Bare Hill Road in Malone.
