Hundreds of people talk and eat Wednesday evening at the Whiteface Lodge’s Kanu restaurant at a fundraiser for victims of Tropical Storm Irene in the towns of Keene and Jay, with some funds to be given specifically to the Keene Volunteer Fire Department for its washed-out firehouse. The proceeds from the bar haven’t been added in yet, but more than $20,000 was raised from the door and a silent auction, according to Emily Foti in the Lodge’s sales office. The Lodge will add its own donation to that, Foti said.
