SARANAC LAKE - The Harrietstown Republican caucus will resume tonight in the lower level of the Harrietstown Town Hall.

The caucus initially convened in July when town Republicans nominated three candidates for four town positions on this year's ballot: Edward Goetz and Ken McLaughlin for two justice positions, and incumbent Bob Bevilacqua for one of two available town council seats.

Harrietstown Republican Committee Chairman Joe Spadaro said at the time that the caucus was recessed in the hopes that another Republican would come forward to run for the second town board seat. That position is currently held by Republican Jim Murnane, who has decided to seek another term.

The GOP caucus will resume tonight at 5:30 p.m. It is open to all registered Republicans in the town of Harrietstown.

Harrietstown Democrats nominated Nichole Meyette and Doug Fransen to run for town council at their caucus last month. They also backed incumbent Justice Howard Riley for re-election and didn't make an endorsement for the second judge position.
