The Seifrieds have resided in St. Augustine Shores since 1983, moving there from Saranac Lake, N.Y. Seifried retired as superintendent of schools for the Saranac Lake Central School District, and he returned briefly in 1986 to serve as interim superintendent for six months. Mrs. Seifried, who graduated from Lyons Falls High School in 1944 as Valedictorian, also attended Oswego State Teachers College, majoring in Industrial Arts.

Seifried is a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II and receiving a Purple Heart at the time of his medical discharge in December 1944.

Mrs. Seifried is the daughter of the late Anna and Marcial Cyr of Lyons Falls, N.Y. Mr. Seifried is the son of the late Mabel and Ernest W. Seifried Sr. of North Gage, N.Y.
