Reminder, folks, that Lake Clear Junction Station Centennial will be held Saturday, July 16 and Sunday, July 17. This will be a fun-filled weekend for the entire family. Many events are being planned. Get to know Lake Clear as of 100 years ago with pictures, artifacts, models. There will be a HO train set-up in the station to replicated the way it looked 100 years ago.
There is going to be a special cancellation for a stamp at the Lake Clear post office for the 100-year anniversary of the train station.This will be on Saturday, July 16 only.
Jill Brockway would appreciate it if anyone has any history or items about the station or Charlie's Inn they wish to donate. Call her at 891-9858.
The Lake Clear Presbyterian church will sponsor a concert with Roy Hurd 7 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Tickets at the door will be $10 donation. Come and enjoy one of the North Country's wonderful singers.
Reminder of a change in schedule for the St. John in the Wilderness church. Starting Sunday, June 26 and ending Sunday, Aug. 28, church services for St. John in the Wilderness church will be at the Fish Creek Campsite at 8 a.m. In case of rain, back to the church for an 8:15 a.m. worship service.
Another reminder, St. John in the Wilderness church is having its annual raffle. Tickets are available from any church member or call Sister Carol at 891-2286.
The bookmobile will be at the Lake Clear post office parking lot from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, July 19. Stop by and pick out your favorite reading material.
The Lake Clear seniors had their noon luncheon this past week at Charlie's Inn. There were 20 people present who enjoyed a delicious meal.
On July 20, the Lake Clear seniors will be going to Sellers Field at Burke for the Franklin County-wide picnic. Lunch is at noon, and there will be many activities, raffles, etc. The Lake Clear seniors wouild like to charter a bus to take all the seniors who wish to go. If you are interested, please call Nonie Webb at 891-6240 or Mary Wirsing at 891-3469 immediately so they can get a head count for the bus.
Congratulations to Brennan McHugh of Lake Clear, who recently received his bachelor of science degree in business administration, along with his PGA Professional Class A golf license from Lundy Fetterman School of Business and Economics at Campbell University in Buies Creek, N.C.
Brennan will begin his new full-time position as a assistant pro at the Redding Country Club in Connecticut, where he completed his professional apprenticeship. Another interesting note: in his junior and senior years at Campbell University, Brennan lived with Ryan, Melissa and T.R. Dailey in nearby Fuquay-Varina. Ryan and Brennan went to school together in Saranac Lake.

Anyone from Lake Clear and the outlying communities interested in something for free, please stop at the Moose Club from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Everything at their yard sale is for free.
St. Paul's/Assumption Town of Brighton Food Pantry will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 7. There will be food and gently used clothing. The food pantry is located iu the Brighton Town Park building. Across from the building there are drop-off bins for returnable bottles and cans. This helps support the food pantry.
