SARANAC LAKE - Most of Daffest has been postponed two weeks due to flooding in the village.

Daffest organizer Cherrie Sayles said Friday that most events, including the soap-box derby races, have been pushed back to May 14 and 15.

"Hopefully by that time everything will be back to normal, people and businesses will be back home and that will give us a whole new reason to celebrate," Sayles wrote in an email. "Many, many thanks to all the village officials and employees who are working so hard to keep this village safe."

Sayles said some Daffest events that were planned to happen inside this weekend will go on as scheduled, including the Junk to Funk Garbage Art and Recycled Fashion Show today at North Country Community College and performances at the Waterhole and Saranac Village at Will Rogers.
