North Elba passes invasive species law

LAKE PLACID - In other news, the North Elba town board did the following on Tuesday:

Passed a law banning the transport of invasive species into or out of any body of water in the town.

Approved this year's Lake Placid Summit Lacrosse Classic, which is held on the athletic fields near the town's transfer station, for Aug. 1 through Aug. 7.

Approved this year's village/town cleanup day for Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to noon. The town will allow the bags of garbage collected to be disposed of at the town transfer station for free. The rain date is May 7.

Voted to approve Milano North's bid to sell food and drinks at the Craig Wood Golf Course this year.

Passed a proclamation declaring their commitment to open government. Enterprise Managing Editor Peter Crowley sent this proclamation to governments throughout the area to mark Sunshine Week, which is March 13 through 19 this year.

Approved the town's $3,350 contribution to the Saranac Lake Rescue Squad.
