PLATTSBURGH - The Lake Placid girls basketball team is back in the sectional championship game.

The Blue Bombers dominated from start to finish Wednesday night to secure a spot in the Section VII, Class C championship game with a convincing 71-19 victory over Northern Adirondack.

Lake Placid will take on Seton Catholic on Friday in the title game at the Plattsburgh State Fieldhouse.

Megan Riley had another huge game for the Blue Bombers Wednesday with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Danielle Balestrini added 15 points and Catalina Daby had nine.

Ayla Thompson was all over the court defensively for Lake Placid, collecting 14 steals and 12 rebounds.

The Blue Bombers (13-6) took a 30-7 lead into the locker room at halftime then extended the edge to 54-9 by the end of the third quarter.

"I was surprised we scored that many points in the Fieldhouse. It's usually a tough place for scoring," said Lake Placid coach Frank Johns. "I was a little apprehensive going into the game, since we hadn't played in two weeks. But as the game went on we were getting less and less and less turnovers and started to settle down."

The Blue Bombers have beaten Seton Catholic twice this season, downing the Knights 52-18 on Dec. 14 at Lake Placid High School and 37-35 at Seton Catholic on Feb. 14.

Lake Placid advanced the Section VII, Class D championship game last year before losing to Westport.
