SARANAC LAKE - The 2011 Winter Carnival Ice Palace came crashing down this morning.
Ronald Kunath, a village of Saranac Lake Department of Public Works employee, used a loader equipped with a jib boom to demolish the castle, the walls of which had been left structurally unsound by last week's 50-plus degree temperatures.
