State Sen. Betty Little, R-Queensbury, will chair the Senate's Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee this year.
Little also added a post on the Senate Finance Committee this year, and she will continue to serve on the Local Government Committee, which she chaired for a number of years before the Democrats won control of the Senate in 2008. The Republicans won the majority back in the 2010 elections.
"Tourism is a critically important economic driver in the North Country, so I'm pleased to have this opportunity to advocate for our region," Little said in a prepared statement. "I've served on this committee since being elected to the Senate and am confident I can hit the ground running."
