Emily Louise Gibbs and Neil Howard Davis were joined in marriage September 19, 2009 at the Church of Saint Luke the Beloved Physician in Saranac Lake, New York.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles and Rene Gibbs of Rainbow Lake, New York. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted J. and Cathy Davis of Houston, Texas.
The Reverend Ann Gaillard officiated at the ceremony, assisted by the Reverend Frederick Dennis.
Rick Bailey, US Air Force, of The Hague, Netherlands, was Best Man. Groomsmen were Greg Baldi of Arlington, Virginia, and Paul Bergman, US?Army, of Arlington, Virginia.
Crystal Canterbury of Morgantown, West Virginia, was Maid of Honor. Bridesmaids were Shannon Gibbs, sister of the bride, of Denver, Colorado, and Meredith Williamson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Ushers were Nick Morin of Washington, D.C. and Brett King of Broadalbin, New York. Mr. and Mrs. William and Mary Lou Burslem, godparents of the bride, of North Ridgeville, Ohio, read the lessons. Lisa Davis, aunt of the groom, and Emily Davis, cousin of the groom, of Houston, Texas, presented the elements. An original score by Ashleigh Blevins, of St. Louis, Missouri, for the "Song of Solomon," was performed in Italian, "Alzati Mia Bella" by the composer and Anne Mandola, of Houston, Texas.
A reception was held at the Lake Placid Club Golf House.
Mrs. Davis graduated from Saranac Lake Central High School in 2000. She graduated from West Virginia University in 2004 with a BS degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences. She is the Manager of Corporate and Agency Services for Volunteer Fairfax in Fairfax, Virginia.
Mr. Davis graduated from Saint Thomas Episcopal High School in Houston, Texas in 1999. He graduated from the University of Texas in 2003, and from Georgetown University in 2005 with a MA degree in American Government. He is a Risk Analyst for Digital Sandbox in McClean, Virginia.
The newlyweds honeymooned at Walt Disney World, and now reside in Arlington, Virginia.
