The project was meant to improve the ball field by providing a scoreboard on a field that is used by the Saranac Lake High School softball team and the Saranac Lake youth baseball and local leagues.

When asked "What do you feel you learned about yourself with this project?" Nichols replied, "The importance of being organized and keeping in contact with all the parties involved."

Nichols thanked those who donated their time, expertise and/or materials to the project: Michelle Walker, of Walker Arts; Dave Nester, of Curtis Lumber; Newman and Holmes; Allie Pellitieri, of Lakeside Masonry; Mike Stender; Bob Scheefer; Peter VanDien; Allan Wright; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wright, of the Elks Club; Mr. Miller; and Mr. Strack. Nichols sends a special thanks to his parents, Bruce and Molly Nichols, for all their help and support.
