LAKE?PLACID?- The Lake Placid Center for the Arts will host Fire n' Spice, the 2nd annual cross-country ski and winter warming party on Friday, Jan. 29.
The event will be hosted by Elaine and Michael Brown at their Lake Placid home and funds from this fun evening will benefit LPCA special projects and adult workshops.
From 7 to 9 p.m., the LPCA will offer assorted chilis, breads, s'mores and other accompaniments, plus beer, wine, soda and the chance to warm up with some hot cocoa and Gluhwein.
From 8 to 9:30 p.m., the public will be invited to check out the trails (on screen and off) with private cross-country trails where people are able to ski and snowshoe at their leisure under the light of the full moon.
Another option will be to stay inside, settle onto a couch and watch a ski film.
From 6 to 10 p.m., "Firin': Sculpt new friendships and toast the old ..." will take place with the opportunity to heat up by the outdoor bonfire, or get warm by the indoor hearth.
Guests will receive a one-of-a-kind, hand-thrown stoneware chili bowl created at the LPCA by artists Elaine Brown and Julia Gronski, exclusively for this event. Tickets for the evening, including food, drink and trail access, are $50 per person.
Reservations are required. For more information, call the LPCA?box office at (518) 523-2512.
