Scott Hamilton to host new ice show with live band

LAKE PLACID - Olympic gold medalist and frequent Lake Placid visitor Scott Hamilton announced Saturday evening that he's bringing another figure skating event to town.
Billed as "Scott Hamilton's Holiday Concert on Ice," the Dec. 29 show will add a new wrinkle to the world of big-budget skating shows by featuring a live band playing adult-contemporary hits along with "American Idol" singers Melinda Doolittle and Phil Stacey. Tickets are on sale already.
