BOCES Awards Day ceremony held at NCCC

SARANAC LAKE - The Adirondack Educational Center of the Franklin-Essex-Hamilton BOCES held its 28th annual Awards Day ceremony Thursday, June 11, at the North Country Community College gymnasium in Saranac Lake. Students from four school districts were recognized for completing programs and received special awards.

The following students are on the Adirondack Educational Center 2009 Graduation List:

Automotive Technology: Adam Brown, 2-year certificate; Mensur Cecunjanin, 2-year certificate; Casey Dunn, 2-year certificate, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Excellent Attendance Award; Genevieve LaBrake, 2-year certificate, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Leadership Award, Vanguard Finalist; Peter Sampson, 2-year certificate, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award; Charles Vincent, 2-year certificate, Outstanding Academic Achievement Award, Most Improved Student Award.

The following students earned the New York State Career and Technical Endorsement Seals. In order to receive the endorsement, students need to meet the following requirements: 1. Meet all graduation requirements at their home schools; 2. Pass all 3 parts of a national technical assessment (written, practical, project); and 3. Successfully complete the 2-year CTE program. In accordance with the New York State Education Department regulations, these seals should be affixed to the individual student's diploma.
