Thanks for helping chamber of commerce

POSTED: June 27, 2009

To the editor:

The Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce would like to thank everyone who helped make the transition from the Harrietstown Town Hall to the North Elba Town House a success.

First and foremost, a huge thank-you goes out to our members, who supported our initiative to partner with the Lake Placid/Essex County Convention and Visitors Bureau and the town of North Elba. They understood how the new chamber location would benefit them, our visitors and the business community at large.

We are also indebted to the town of Harrietstown for having hosted us for as long as anyone can remember - probably since the end of World War II. We appreciate their support through the decades and look forward to our continued partnership on various issues, including the Adirondack Regional Airport and the business park.

The following companies and organizations also need to be acknowledged for providing their expertise and/or supplies in helping make the transition a smooth one: Georgeanne Gaffney Fine Arts, Coakley High Peaks Ace Hardware store, Curtis Lumber, the Lake Placid/Essex County Convention and Visitors Bureau, town of North Elba, High Peaks Hospice, Mountain Gift & Powder Company, Literacy Volunteers and the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors.

Moreover, there were many, many people who lent a hand in one way or another before, during and after the transition, including Jim McKenna, Kathy Pfohl, John Mills, Nelson Pleau, Keith Wells, Kurt Munson, Bill Kennedy, Sandra Hildreth, Kathleen Canzano, Adrienne Relyea and Cindy Morrow. Hopefully, no one has been left out, and if so, we sincerely apologize as your input has been invaluable!

Now that we are in our new location at 193 River St., we look forward to continuing to serve the business community of Saranac Lake.

Sincerely,

Sylvie D. Nelson, IOM

Executive director
