Spaghetti supper, rummage sale a success

The Adirondack Presbyterian Churches of Lake Clear and St Regis will hold their joint worship service for the month of May at the Lake Clear church. Worship service will start at 10:45 a.m., with coffee hour to follow. All are invited to attend and bring a friend.

St John in the Wilderness church will hold its Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. on Sunday. Gabriel Assumption will hold its Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. St Pauls in Bloomingdale has an anticipated Mass at 4 p.m. on Saturday. All are invited to attend and bring a friend.

There will be a card party held in the Wilderness church hall 1 p.m. Sunday, May 17. Prizes, lottery tree, etc. All are invited to enjoy a card game with your friends and neighbors.

St John in the Wilderness church members would like to thank everyone who helped to make their recent spaghetti supper such a success. A special thank you to everyone who helped, everyone who came and everyone who donated. Paula at the Airport Cafe was responsible for that delicious spaghetti sauce. Stop by and see Paula and thank her so much.

The bookmobile will be at the Lake Clear post office parking 1ot a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday. Hope you all have enough good reading material to keep you busy until then.

Forest Home Road has another new resident. One of Robert Brockway's cows had a heifer calf about two weeks ago. It's brown and white and cute as you can imagine.

Around town

Members of the Methodist Church in Saranac Lake would like to thank everyone so much for helping to make our rummage sale extremely successful. Without everyone's help we could not have done it. We appreciate everyone who helped, everyone who donated, and everyone who came and purchased something for their own home. See you all in July for the next sale.

The VFW Auxiliary 43357 will hold its meeting on Tuesday May 12 at La Bella Ristorante, starting with cocktails at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. Following that there will be installation of officers. All members are encouraged to attend.

The Tri-Lakes Amateur Radio Club will hold its montly meeting at 7 p.m.Tuesday May in the Community Room at the Overlook Apartment Bloomingdale. All ham operators and anyone interested in becoming a ham radio operator are welcome to attend. For more information, call John Duquette at 891-8180.

There will be card parties held at the Bloomingdale Town Hall every Thursday starting at 7 p.m.. Prizes and refreshments. For more information please call Augie Simpson at 891-4398.

On April 16, the Saranac Lake High School National Honor Society held its induction ceremony at the high school. There were 34 students inducted into the Honor Society. The following are from the Lake Clear area: Moll Burges, Adam Heverly, Andrea Nye, Dylan Dawson and Anna Kelting. We wish all 34 students the best of luck.

Senior happenings

The Gamblers/Shoppers Express will be heading out of town on Saturday, May 2. This is for some shopping in Malone, etc. or to the casino for you know what. The bus will leave the Adult Center at 9 a.m. Please call 891-2980 to make your reservations for this fun trip.

There will be a card party held at the Adult Center 1 p.m. Sunday May 3. Prizes, refreshments, and a fun time playing card games with your friends. The Adult Center sponsors bingo every Monday night starting at 7 p.m. sharp. This is open to the public. A total of $1,000 is awarded for the various games played. This is held at the Adult Center.

There are various activities during the day held at the Adult Center. Bingo at 1 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Osteo-Wellness at 10 a.m.Monday and Friday. Various shopping trips around town Tuesday and Thursday leaving at 1 p.m. For the shopping trips, you need to call 891-2980 to make your reservations. You need to do the same for the meals at the Adult Centers if you wish to partake any of those.

The Board of Directors of the Adult Center sponsored an evening meal to celebrate all the wonderful volunteers that help at the center. It was held on April 22 and was well attended. Thank you to everyone who came. Thank you

to everyone who helped with the meal. it was greatly appreciated.
