Chicken pox shots today at Petrova

November 25, 2008
Adirondack Daily Enterprise

To the editor:

There is currently an outbreak of varicella (chicken pox) in Petrova Elementary and Middle School. At the present time (Editor's note: This letter was sent to the Enterprise at 3 p.m. Monday), there are 12 students reported to be exposed.

Varicella (chicken pox) is highly contagious and can be prevented with vaccination. We are holding a varicella (chicken pox) vaccination clinic for Petrova Elementary and Middle School on Tuesday, Nov. 25 (today) from noon to 3 p.m. at the Petrova school. If school is closed, the clinic will be held the following day, Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Harrietstown Town Hall.

If you have any question, please call Patti McGillicuddy at 481-1710 at the Franklin County Public Health Office.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Patricia McGillicuddy, Prevent nurse
