Red Storm boys soccer falls to Cougars
SARANAC LAKE - The Saranac Lake boys soccer team fell to visiting Northeastern Clinton Central School 3-0 Wednesday.
Despite the loss, Red Storm coach Bill Wilson was happy with his team's performance.
"The Red Storm played an evenly matched first half against a very skilled NCCS," Wilson said. "I was happy to see our passing game and field control return to us tonight. We were hungry for goals, but just couldn't connect."
Scoring first for NCCS was Kasey Trombley at 14:37 of the first half. Nate Lamberton followed up with another goal at 39:35 to close the opening half. Connor Herdic sealed the contest with a second-half tally at 10:35.
The Cougars dominated in shots, making 30 attempts on net to the Red Storm's 13.
In goal for Saranac Lake, Brad Duby turned away 18 shots, while NCCS netminder Casey Manor stopped seven.
Saranac Lake's next game will be Friday, when they hit the road for an evening game against Plattsburgh, scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
