Web site set up to help find Quinn

RAY BROOK - Six days after Jeremy Quinn went missing in his hometown of Keene, family members and friends have set up a Web site, www.findjeremy.org

They're also offering a cash reward for information leading to his discovery and are expressing gratitude for the outpouring of support they have received from their community.

But other than that, there's no news - no Jeremy.

The family is as baffled as anyone - perhaps more so, since they have put the rest of their lives on hold to obsess over looking for him. Andrew Quinn, who lives in Lake Placid and owns Desperados restaurant there, is one of Jeremy's six older brothers (he also has an older sister). He said Sunday night that he's already thought of all the "what ifs" people suggest to him. His worry has been keeping him up at night, although sometimes he falls asleep out of pure exhaustion.

He said people are still searching around the town of Keene even though the state Department of Environmental Conservation called off the official search Thursday night after more than 150 people, dogs and helicopters came up with no leads in the woods around Hickey Road, where Quinn's pickup truck was found near a private residence for which he is a caretaker. Quinn planned to check on the place just after 7 a.m. that day before going to another job at the AuSable Club. He never showed up at the AuSable Club, however, and the search began that evening. The truck was found around 7 p.m. with the keys to it and the house inside. There were no signs that anyone else had been there.

The state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation is now leading the case.

The family is now offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to Jeremy Quinn's finding, Andrew said.

"We're asking anyone who saw him on that Tuesday to please call state police," Andrew said. Maybe someone saw him on their way out of town that day and just got back, he suggested; what they saw may not have meant much to them then but might mean a lot to investigators now.

Anonymous calls are OK.

"We're exploring every option and working with BCI," Andrew said. "They've been very good. They've helped us every way they can - and the forest rangers were outstanding."

Jeremy Quinn, 38, is a volunteer firefighter, husband and father of two daughters who started first grade and preschool Wednesday at Keene Central School.
