Hello and welcome to another edition of the Brighton Buzz!
Barbara and her gang are still having fun this summer providing food and fellowship for the folks of the town of Brighton with nourishing food and family type atmosphere at the food pantry. Barbara wishes to send hugs and many thanks to everyone for the generous support given to the food pantry. Barbara tells me many more folks are utilizing the pantry. And she is glad folks aren't going hungry. Reminder, if anyone has a need or questions, please five Barbara a call at 327-3297.
Call 483-9000 for your transportation needs from the Franklin County transit folks. Ride the bus and meet some new and some old friends, leaving the driving to the folks at the Franklin County Transit.
Bottle/can deposit bins
It has been noticed that someone has been placing trash in the bins for the returnable bottle/can bins located around the town. The Boy and Girl Scouts have a bin, as well as the food pantry bin, located across the road from the Brighton town park on the Rainbow lake Road.
It is being requested that folks please use consideration and not place their trash in these bins. It is gratefully appreciated when bottles/cans are rinsed out clean and bagged up neatly.
Happy birthday to "Ann," relation to Cathy and Mark Bullis, celebrated her Birthday on Aug. 12
On Sept. 4, if you see Mark Bullis wish him a happy birthday as well!
Is there anyone else out there who would like a birthday or anniversary wish recognized? If so, send me an e-mail at the address listed so I can add it to the news.
Get well wishes
Hey "Maggie," I'm glad you are feeling better! When you see Margaret, the "pie lady" at Gus' Adirondack Diner, give her get well wishes, she had a bought of pneumonia this past week and was taken to the hospital for a stay of a couple days.
I'd like to send many heart felt thanks to the folks of my home department, Paul Smiths-Gabriels Volunteer Fire Department, and the folks of Saranac Lake Rescue, who responded to the call when Mom needed help.
Hey Kid's School will be open in a few weeks, how exciting to go back to school! Getting new clothes and supplies! Have you finished reading a book for the summer? I know some of you went on a camping trip this past week at a local camping area and some of you went on family road/camping trips. Have you kept your diary of what you did?
If you have yet to go on your camping trip, here is a traditional camp treat:
All you need is a chocolate candy bar, some marshmallows and some graham crackers.
Make a sandwich, layering a square of graham cracker, then a square of candy bar then a roasted marshmallow, then another square of chocolate bar, and another square of graham cracker. The heat from the roasted marsh mallow will melt the chocolate making everything ooie and gooie!
