The Adirondack Resort and Retreat at Hohmeyer's Lodge on Lake Clear was named by the National Geographic Traveler in their April issue as one of the top 150 places to stay in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. They were one of two properties out of 46 in the Adirondack region on the "Stay List" in the United States. Some of the highlights of the property are hand-hewn catheral ceilings in the lodging, the fireplace in the Rathskeller, incorporation of local foods in the cuisine, networked trails on the property, and hosting events that include local business. This is the second award for Cathy and Ernest Hohmeyer. They were listed as #1 restaurant in northern New York, receiving the "5 fork" award in 2007 from the Watertown Times. For more information, check email@example.com. Congratulations to Cathy and Ernest Hohmeyer.

On June 13 the seniors plus other people were sitting at different locations around town collecting for Meals-On-Wheels Tag Day. We would like to thank everyone who volunteered and everyone who generously donated to this very worthy program to help make tag day such a success. Some of the people who receive Meals-On-Wheels are unable to leave their homes, so the meals are really appreciated. Again, thank you to everyone. Your help was greatly appreciated.
Start putting in your plants; work the nutrients in your soil. Wet newspaper; put layers around the plants, overlapping as you go. Cover with mulch and forget about weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic. They will not get through wet newspaper.
To keep squirrels from eating your plants, sprinkle your plants with cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper doesn't hurt the plant and the squirrels won't come near it.
