Trudeau stamp unveiling is today

SARANAC LAKE — The United States Postal Service will unveil a new stamp honoring Dr. Edward Livingston Trudeau today at 1 p.m. at the Hotel Saranac.

It is the newest stamp in the Distinguished American series and was previously scheduled to be unveiled at Berkeley Green.

U.S. Rep. John McHugh, whose congressional district includes most of the North Country, will be the special guest speaker along with Jeanne Trudeau Fenn, Dr. Trudeau’s great-granddaughter.

First-day covers and cancellation stamps created for the event will be available for purchase at the historic Saranac Laboratory following the ceremony.
