Revolving door is plainly unethical

January 9, 2014

Like many presidents during the decades after the Watergate Scandal, Barack Obama promised to run an ethical, transparent government. That didn’t last long....

The "revolving door" and the corruption it enables are one of the few things that receive bi-partisan support within our government. But maybe the naysayers are right. Multi-national corporations don't own our government and manipulate to satisfy their own greed and*****for power.

Question for next weeks poll. Do you think the ADE policy of censorship goes way beyond any sensible measure to restrict profanity?

goose, I'm certainly not advocating communism but your statement that it would work "if people were all honest and were neither greedy nor lazy" is equally true of capitalism.

Wondering you are right mostly on it holding true for capitalism with the exception of laziness since in a capitalistic system WITHOUT a welfare system that is well beyond being a safety net, lazy people will simply not be a factor since they will either work or starve and not be taken care of for life by being useless eaters. Since many people are dishonest, greedy and lazy AND we have a welfare system that allows laziness to continue generation after generation we have many issues with our capitalist system. So to resolve these issues I suppose we should switch to feudalism then greed is good, dishonesty is even better and laziness is great if you are the king.

With the way the 1% is sucking up all the wealth we are well on the way to a feudal system. I get your point about capitalism really not supporting laziness but I see greed and it's companion dishonesty as far more dangerous and costly than laziness except when laziness causes stupidity because that is the most harmful.
