as a former gi, I know the waste is not caused by the grunt.in spite of this they always try to balance the budget on the back of the grunt.....in the officer ranks, especially the higher up's, you'll never find so many yes men each trying to feather his own nest with promotions etc.. I personally always thought if I had the power to control the budget of the military I would cut the budget every year until they stopped buying floor wax, that would be when you have cut them deep enough because the floor wax would be the last to go

Why isn't the editorial titled GOVERNMENT waste & fraud must be stopped?

It's certainly no surprise to me that any part of the U.S./ government experiences massive waste & fraud.

I agree the Military waste must be stopped. However, how about the waste and fraud in welfare, medicare, IRS, flying williy-nilly in Air Force One?

It seems strangely biased to single out the Military. Again, I agree that Military Waste must be stopped, but no more than waste & fraud in every/any branch of our government.

Unfortunately, in the world we live in, the Military actually provides a worthwhile service to taxpayers which may not make it the first target for waste reduction.

Let's share the outrage regarding waste among all parts of the government.

I agree, waste is waste. What difference does it make which government group is wasting our tax dollars? Is military waste worse than medicare fraud? No! A dollar lost is a dollar lost. Unless this editorial is intended as a political comment.
