I do donate food to the pantries, but am also aware that a percentage, maybe 5% or maybe40% count on the pantries to supplement their drug use costs.. not a nice thing to suggest but I believe it to be true. social services gives them money and health insurance and helps with the rent....I guess I just don't understand why we even need a food pantry in this country. we all pay a lot of taxes including sales taxes.....if the governments (local and federal would spend it more wisely we would all be so much better off.

And I too, donate a substantial amount to all the local pantries. Because I care...and can.
