Once again the selfish, self-annointed few are trying to decide what is best for this community. Dan Mecklenburg should be ashamed of himself. This is all over sour grapes. The cry baby rail enthusiasts are upset the UMP process was opened back up so they're taking their toys and going home. Childish!

Thank you for stating the obvious. Trains are in the same category as the Conestoga wagon.

The track that was removed is part of a wye, a track arrangement used for turning around railway equipment. It is the railway equivalent of a three point turn used to swap the direction of railway equipment. Among other reasons it is used to help equalize wheel wear. It is the only one on this railroad and is needed.

Can we please get beyond the nostalgia of the train ideation??? Please??? Lovely history, but time to move forward with what benefits the rail corridor locale the best.....and it is NOT the restoration of a train!!!

The train will never amount to an economic success or drive new business to the region. Let's keep our fond memories and move on. One good winter of snowmobiling will bring more money than the train could in the rest of our lives. Snowmobiling is the only option that has a proven track record. The bikes and hikes are speculation but would be a nice bonus. The train does nothing.
