Hey ADE/PC; Why havn't you brought up the recent Assembly failure of the AH/LP part-time ER fallout for comment in an editorial? Further, the Malone paper reports another Assembly failure in that of the Franklin County Bed Tax, which was heavily opposed from the TLer's, but supported from the rest of the County? Seems quite news-worthy to me; but hey, who am I??!!

Both sides of the Rail/Trail issue inflate their economic figures in attempt's to make their respective causes known. However, the Rail group has a muge larger burden to prove as they have continually wasted State monies for the past 15+ years when they started with intentions of being self reliant. Well, they aren't now, havn't been, and can't convince me that they ever will be. So, to ME (imho only) the only logical economic benefit for the use of the corridor is drawing trail use. I hate to see the nostalgia go too!!!! But I also wish (NEED) for me, my family, and my communities to have hope in economic growth in an effort to thrive, not survive. Sorry 'Rusty', the train stops here!

snowmobiles in the winter and biking and hiking in the summer will see more people on the corridor in a week than the whole season with the train!!!!

This is long overdue. While the trail people base their argument on predictions and speculation, the train people hang their hats on nostalgia and memories of a by gone era. Snowmobiles are the only proven economic force in this discussion. That alone is good enough reason to pull the tracks and create a first class trail from Utica to Canada.
